On March 29th, 2023, Scottish couple Chris and Julie Ramsey embarked on an 18, 000-mile expedition from the 1823 Magnetic North Pole to the South Pole in an electric vehicle, a journey people declared impossible.
After six years of careful planning, and Julie’s gruelling battle against a debilitating health condition, they were prepared to take on the greatest challenge of their lives. Armed with a Nissan Ariya with 39” tyres, the couple drove across some of the world’s most punishing and dangerous terrains – from the melting Arctic sea ice to the vast desert roads of South America.
Their expedition not only pushed the limits of electric vehicle technology, but also their marriage. What set out as a journey of hope and discovery quickly descended into a race against time.
